The Body: Our First Love Relationship

01 May 2025

The Body is the Ticket Graphic

When my grandsons were born, I watched their eyes track their tiny hands in wonder. They weren’t trying to understand their bodies. They were receiving the miracle.

And I found myself asking:
When did I stop looking at myself like that?

Our first love relationship is with our body.
And for most of us, over time, that relationship becomes complicated.

Criticism replaces awe.
Shame replaces reverence.
Control replaces trust.

This month on my Ignite Your Magic Substack, I’m exploring a radical reframe:
What if your body isn’t a problem to fix… but a sacred relationship to tend?

In the first full post, I reflect on how spiritual traditions often treat the body as baggage—but what if it’s the ticket? The way Love learns to dance in form?

“Love is a living, breathing essence…
that the wise can mold into something beautiful.” – Sydney Banks

Your body is not separate from that wisdom. It is that wisdom, sculpted in motion.
